Illustration x Flop Magazine

Illustration made for Flop Magazine. The subject is an everyday moment — grocery shopping, a quick embrace — with the unexpected company of a giant hat-wearing frog and Totoro. None of the three seem particularly surprised.

The idea was to explore how the fantastical can inhabit routine without disrupting it, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Open book with black-and-white illustrations of a woman and large anthropomorphic frog wearing a suit and a hat, with a smaller animal within the frog's shirt. A colorful foster care poster with a castle, rainbow, and telephone overlays part of the scene.
